Associate Professor Webb has been a member of the RAAF Specialist Reserve since 1987 and continues in that role.
He holds the rank of Squadron Leader and provides Urological services to all ADF members from the Army, Navy and Air Force.
He originally operated at No 6Hospital at PointCook,wherehe did his formalOfficer training in 1987.
In partnership with Group Captain Alex Cato, A.M. (Urologist) and Gavin Wright, no-authored the paper Micro Surgical Vaso-Vasostomy in Military Personnel, published the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Surgery.
Following the closure of Pt Cook, No 6 Hospital was transferred to RAAF Base Williams at Laverton, where A/prof. Webb continued to operate until its closure recently.
Associate Professor Webb still provides services via his office, and has performed the first politically assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (da Vinci robotic surgery) on an ADF member.
He continues in this role and over the last 22 years has been involved in teaching, service and research in the Australian Defence Forces.
His commitment was recognised by his award from the Director General of Defence Hea1th Services of the Commendation Certificate.
